Penarth has been chosen to host the grand finale of a contemporary Welsh art exhibition, which has been touring Wales since the summer.

Taking place at The Washington Gallery, Penarth from November 3rd, the Tros Gynnal Plant Art 2011 exhibition will culminate in a public auction at the gallery on November 10th, with viewing commencing at 6.30pm.

Tros Gynnal Plant Art 2011 is a display of single and three dimensional artwork, donated by over 70 artists to the charity, which supports vulnerable children and young people.

The exhibition arrives at Penarth following shows at venues including Swansea Museum, and Llangollen International Pavillion.

Maggie Knight, Director of the Washington Gallery said: “We are always happy to bring people together to experience contemporary art. All the artists have contributed their works to Tros Gynnal Plant and we hope it raises significant funds for this very worthwhile charity.”

Jan Croome, Office Manager at Tros Gynnal said: “We are very excited to be bringing our exhibition to Penarth which really has become a haven for art in recent years. We are now in our fourth year of showing and auctioning Welsh contemporary art that is both accessible and affordable and we look forward to a well attended and successful auction. Everyone is welcome.”
