A Cardiff-based business organisation has announced its expansion by establishing a Bridgend arm.

introbiz, which organises monthly business-to-business networking events throughout the capital, launched a sister organisation in association with Bridgend Council’s economic development unit.

The inaugural introbiz Bridgend event took place at the headquarters and showrooms of the Sinclair Group’s Mercedes-Benz of Bridgend on September 17th.

Founded in 2008 by former advertising specialist Tracey Jenkins, introbiz has seen its membership grow rapidly with events in the city's hotels commanding upwards of 60 business attendees.

Announcing the expansion westwards, Tracey Jenkins, Managing Director of introbiz said:

"This move is ahead of schedule in our expansion programme and is due to popular demand from the area. Despite and in fact possibly due to the current economic climate we are finding businesses are keen to work harder to get out there and network.  Our above projection growth in Cardiff proves this and we are very excited to replicate this for businesses in the Bridgend region.

We will be introducing our regular features including our Intro-Wall which ensures that all businesses attending have their business cards displayed for easy dispensing to fellow guests.”

Mr Ray Pearce – Head of Economic Development, Bridgend County Borough Council, said: “introbiz is a welcome addition to the local business networking scene. Perhaps due to the area’s successful history of attracting inward investment of a worldwide caliber, Bridgend businesses are particularly open to networking which should bode well for this initiative.”
